While the Prius brand has always been known for efficiency, the 2025 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid is gaining it the recognition it deserves for creating forward-looking designs and delivering a thrilling driving experience.
1. Efficient Performance
Every Prius Plug-in Hybrid comes with a 2L 4-cylinder gas engine accompanied by a plug-in electric motor. The latter alone is capable of powering the vehicle for up to 44 miles on a single charge, and it gets an impressive 127 MPGe according to EPA estimates. This means that you will need to use gas less often, but even when you do the vehicle is still highly efficient, delivering up to 53 MPG on the highway.
2. Generous Safety Package
The 2025 model comes with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 package as standard, offering drivers plenty of features to take some of the stress and danger out of driving. These include a Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist feature, which can warn drivers or carry out corrective steering when the vehicle begins to drift out of its lane, and a Pre-Collision System which can provide automatic emergency braking when hazards are detected in the road ahead.
3. Thoughtful Driver Assistance
Toyota has equipped the car with several assistance features that we think drivers will love, beginning with their Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission. In addition to contributing to the car’s fuel efficiency, this makes acceleration very smooth and makes it easier to handle stop-and-go traffic. Then there is the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which maintains a predetermined distance from the vehicle ahead.
4. Modern Design and Personalization Options
The 2025 edition retains the classic Prius silhouette but with smoother lines and a minimalist color scheme, giving it a classy, modern look. There are six different colors available, and three trims. The basic SE trim comes with a refined black and red fabric interior, while the XSE and XSE Premium come with Toyota’s SofTex synthetic leather. All come with 60/40-split rear seats which can fold down to create additional space, while the higher trims include a central armrest.
5. Seamlessly Integrated Technology
The Toyota Audio Multimedia system comes as standard with the Plug-in Hybrid. This consists of an 8-inch screen, a 6-speaker audio system, and a total of six USB charge ports. Drivers and passengers can connect their electronic devices to the system via Bluetooth or USB in order to perform tasks like making hands-free calls and streaming music. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility means that even more functions are available to users of those devices.
