The completely transformed 2025 Toyota Tacoma offers enhanced performance, comfort, and technology. The wildly popular midsize pickup truck's refined powertrains, improved seating, and modern tech elevate daily commutes and off-road adventures.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The SR showcases black rear bumpers and 17-inch steel wheels. LED fog lights, body-colored rear bumpers, and 17-inch alloy wheels enhance the SR5's style. The TRD PreRunner flaunts black exterior trim, specialized wheels, and underbody protection for the fuel tank. The TRD Sport adds LED bed lighting and 18-inch wheels. Specialized wheels, tires, and black over-fenders accentuate the TRD Off-Road's rugged flare. Chrome exterior accents and exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels give the Limited an exclusive appeal.
The bed is available in 5- and 6-foot lengths and features an aluminum-reinforced structure with a sheet-molded composite surface for enhanced durability. Color options include Terra, Blue Crush Metallic, Underground, Celestial Silver Metallic, Black, Ice Cap, Bronze Oxide, Mudbath, Supersonic Red, and Wind Chill Pearl.
Engine (Power)
The SR houses a 228-horsepower turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. A more powerful version in the SR5, TRD PreRunner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, and Limited produces 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The i-FORCE MAX system generates an impressive 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. An available six-speed intelligent manual transmission on select trims offers more control over gear changes.
Performance
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma with the 278-horsepower engine accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 7 seconds. All trims offer a maximum towing capacity of 6,500 pounds and can handle payloads up to 1,705 pounds. The new multilink rear suspension significantly improves ride comfort and off-road handling.
Drivers can choose part- or full-time four-wheel-drive systems. The stabilizer disconnect mechanism enhances wheel articulation over challenging terrains, improving off-road adventures.
Interior
The SR and SR5 feature a 7-inch digital gauge cluster. Higher trims, including the TRD Off-Road, Limited, and TRD Pro, boast a 12.3-inch version. An 8-inch touchscreen comes standard, and a 14-inch display is optional on some trims and standard on the Limited. The cabin includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A wireless charging pad and JBL audio system are available on select models. The XtraCab configuration seats four passengers, and the double cab accommodates five with expanded headroom for this model.
Safety Features
All 2025 Tacoma models come with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 technologies, including forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist. The SR5 and higher trims add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
The 2025 Tacoma Crew Cab earned "Good" ratings in key Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, including Small Overlap Front for driver and passenger sides, Moderate Overlap Front, and Side Crash. The truck's LATCH connectors in the rear outboard seats received an "Acceptable" rating from IIHS for child seat anchor accessibility.
